Uncle Bill's Pickles

1 cup Canning Salt

1 quart Apple Cider Vinegar 5%

4 quarts Water (use Distilled)

a little Alum

Cucumbers (if large slice in spears)

5 fresh Garlic Cloves (per jar)

fresh Dill

In a saucepan combine canning salt, vinegar, water, and alum. Bring to a boil. Meanwhile put the garlic cloves in the bottom of the sterilized jars and place the cucumber spears on top. Once the liquid is boiling pour over the cucumbers and garlic in jar. carefully place fresh dill on top and then place hot sterilized flat and rim on the quart jar and tighten. Good for 6 months or longer.
